Rent Increases
After the initial first year term of the lease and HAP contract, owners/landlords that want a rent increase must submit a written request to the Housing Authority's Housing Choice Voucher Department at least sixty (60) days prior to the effective date of the change/increase. In order to receive a rent adjustment, the owner must have complied with all requirements of the HAP contract and HQS during the year before the annual anniversary date. The requested amount of the increase must be rent reasonable and cannot exceed the amount of an unassisted unit.
